Bavarian gentians, tall ones
make a dark-blue gloom
in the sunny room
They have added blueness to blueness, until
it is dark; beauty
blue joy of my soul

since I embarked on your dark blue fringes
how deep, how deep, how happy!
What a journey for my soul
in the dark blue gloom
